MEAT PIE RECIPE
Meat Pie Crust
Ingredient
* 200g of flour.
* 100g of butter.
* 4 tablespoon of water.
* A pinch of salt.
Method
* Sieve the flour and add salt .
* Mix the butter to the flour and salt mixture.
* Make a well in the center.
* Add sufficient water to make a fairly firm paste (remember there shouldn't be too much water or else it wouldn't be able to form a firm pastry).
* Mix then transfer it to a clean working surface and knead.
* Handle as little and as lightly as possible.
* Leave it for 15 mins outside or inside the freezer for 5 mins.
* Don't knead too much so it will not be droopy.
Meat Pie Sauce
Ingredient
* 500g of raw minced beef.
*1 teaspoon of chilli pepper.
*Salt to taste.
*1 small of onion.
*Curry,thyme and one seasoning cube.
*Carrot and Irish potatoes.
*1 Green pepper and spring onion.
Method
* Parboil the minced beefs a little.
* Wash the potatoes carrots and scrap the back and dice it.
* Wash the green pepper, spring onions and dice also.
* Parboil the carrot and potatoes; drain the water.
* Turn on the heat and pour groundnut oil.
* Add the vegetables and the potatoes then pour the beef and the stock.
* Cover it to boil for some minutes.
*Add a little flour to thicken it.
*Allow to boil for 15 mins
*Allow it to cool down before use.
Assemble
*Make the pastry about 20 mins before it's needed.
* Divide pastry into 5 equal size and place on a clean surface.
* Roll out each pieces to a 23 cm round.
* Trim the edge and reserve the trimmings.
*Put one pastry on a meat pie cutter and put a spoonful of the filling into the center
*Brush the edge of the pastry with water and fold off the pastry firmly together.
*Repeat with the other pastries.
*Brush with egg or milk and bake for 30-45mins .
(Add a pinch of salt to the egg use for brushing.)
* Take it out of the oven and your meat pie is ready.
